When are Salt River Project’s peak hours?
Salt River Project’s peak hours are 2pm–8pm, July–August on 18 of its 27 time-of-use plans — the rest use different windows, below. Everything outside those hours is off-peak, apart from a mid-priced shoulder period.
At peak, E-13 Tier 1 Customer Generation Time-of-Use Export Price Plan for Residential Service charges 23.4¢ a kWh; off-peak it is 10.4¢ — 2.2× apart. Prices from the filed tariff.
These hours only apply if you are on a time-of-use plan. Salt River Project’s default plan, E-23 Tier 1 BASIC PRICE PLAN FOR RESIDENTIAL SERVICE, charges one rate at every hour of the day. A household that never switched has no peak hours to avoid — and no cheap hours to use.

What is it worth to move a load out of peak?
On E-28 Tier 1 PRICE PLAN FOR RESIDENTIAL TIME-OF-DAY SERVICE WITH SUPER OFF-PEAK HOURS, every kilowatt-hour a day you move from 6pm to 8am is worth about $123 a year in the month the gap is widest. An electric car charging 10 kWh a night, or a water heater on a timer, is the kind of load that actually moves.
